The Dorset Echo Friday 10 February 2012

A woman who was hit by a train is still in a serious condition in hospital.
British Transport Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident on Wednesday shortly before 2pm on the pedestrian crossing in Bailey’s Drove, Wool.
The woman, 65, remains in Southampton General Hospital where her conditon is described as ‘serious’.
A British Transport Police spokeman said: “A 35-year old man who was with the woman at the time was taken to a police station in Weymouth before later being released.”
“Enquiries are ongoing as to why the man and woman, who are of no fixed address, were on the crossing.”
It is believed the pair, thought to be mother and son, got off a train at Wool station and walked down the road to the crossing.
The train involved was the 11.35am London to Waterloo South West Trains service. The line between Dorchester South and Wareham was closed for several hours.
Police said the son was reported to have been carrying a dead dog at the time.
